| Challenge blurb | NYC DOB and Urban Tech Hub @ Company join forces to promote the first-ever Building Code Innovation Challenge that seeks your ideas on improving worker safety and building design, construction, and regulation. |
| Challenge description | The New York City Department of Buildings is currently updating the City’s Building Code, which is one of the nation’s oldest and most comprehensive set of rules regarding construction in both new and existing buildings. Regulations adopted by New York City frequently inform model codes on the national and international levels. As DOB wraps up the code update process for 2020, they are already looking forward to the next code-revision cycle. Accordingly, DOB is launching its first-ever Building Code Innovation Challenge, seeking ideas from the real estate and construction industries, as well as the general public, on practical steps the city can take to improve the safety of buildings and workers, and to modernize the construction process. |
